Catch your connecting flight to Bagdogra. Enjoy a scenic drive to Darjeeling (about 3 hours). Spend two full days exploring Darjeeling's charms: Visit a tea plantation and sample world-famous Darjeeling tea. Take a joy ride on the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, aka the 'Toy Train'. Wake up early to catch the sunrise at Tiger Hill. Explore the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute and Zoo. Wander through the colourful local markets.
Hit the road for a 6-hour drive to Phuntsholing, the gateway to Bhutan. Complete immigration formalities (your guide will help you). Stretch your legs with an evening stroll through the local market. Chat with locals and get your first taste of Bhutanese culture!
Buckle up for a scenic 5-hour drive to Thimphu, Bhutan's capital. Stop for photos along the way – the views are incredible! Visit the National Memorial Chorten, a beautiful stupa in the heart of the city. End your day with a relaxed walk down Thimphu's main street.
Start your day with a visit to the massive Buddha Dordenma statue. Step back in time at the Folk Heritage Museum. Marvel at the impressive Tashichho Dzong, a fortress-monastery. Watch students at work in the School of Traditional Arts.
Enjoy a 3-hour drive to Punakha, stopping at Dochula Pass for breathtaking views. Visit Chimi Lhakhang, known as the 'fertility temple' (your guide will explain why!). Explore the magnificent Punakha Dzong, Bhutan's most beautiful fortress.
Start your day with a short hike to Khamsum Yuelley Namgyal Chorten. Drive to Paro (4 hours), taking in the beautiful countryside. Spend your evening exploring Paro town and visiting Rinpung Dzong.
Put on your hiking boots for the highlight of the trip – Tiger's Nest Monastery! The hike takes about 2-3 hours each way, but the views are worth every step. After lunch, visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan's oldest and most beautiful temples.
Say goodbye to Bhutan as you fly back to Delhi. Enjoy a free afternoon in Delhi – perhaps do some last-minute shopping?
