As we fly over the Himalayas, keep your eyes peeled for stunning mountain views! Once we land in Leh, we'll take it easy to help you adjust to the high altitude. We'll check into our cosy guesthouse and spend the rest of the day relaxing, sipping on some warming butter tea, and taking short walks around the town. Remember, the key to avoiding altitude sickness is to drink plenty of water and take it slow!
Leh and Surroundings Now that you've had a day to acclimatise, it's time to explore! We'll start with a visit to Leh Palace, a mini version of the famous Potala Palace in Tibet. From here, we'll wander through the old town, popping into local markets and maybe picking up some colourful prayer flags as souvenirs.
, we'll venture out to some of Ladakh's most impressive monasteries. First stop is Thiksey, often called the 'Mini Potala' due to its resemblance to the Dalai Lama's former home. We'll time our visit to catch the morning prayers - a truly magical experience. Next, we'll head to Hemis, the largest and wealthiest monastery in Ladakh. Finally, we'll visit Shey, the former summer palace of the Ladakhi kings. Throughout the day, I'll share stories about the history and legends of these ancient places.
Markha Valley Trek Now for the real adventure! We'll spend the next five days trekking through the stunning Markha Valley. Each day, we'll walk for about 5-6 hours, crossing rivers, passing through remote villages, and camping in beautiful locations. Here's a quick breakdown: Drive to Chilling, trek to Skiu

The scenery changes daily, from lush green valleys to stark mountain passes. Each night, we'll camp under a blanket of stars, sharing stories around the campfire. It's a challenging trek, but I promise the views are worth every step!
