Early doors today, folks! We're catching a flight to Leh, the capital of Ladakh. At 3,500 metres up, the air's a bit thin, so take it easy today. We'll have a gentle stroll around Leh bazaar – perfect for picking up some funky Tibetan trinkets. As the sun sets, we'll head to Shanti Stupa for some cracking views. Don't forget your woolly jumper, it gets nippy up here!
Hope you're not too knackered from yesterday! We're off to Thiksey Monastery for morning prayers. The chanting is proper goosebump material! Then it's on to Hemis, the biggest monastery in Ladakh. In the afternoon, we'll explore Shey Palace. Keep your eyes peeled for snow leopards – they're rare as hen's teeth, but you never know!
Buckle up, because today we're driving over Khardung La – the world's highest road you can drive on! It's higher than Everest Base Camp, can you Adam and Eve it? Once we reach Nubra Valley, we'll visit Diskit Monastery. Then, for a bit of a laugh, we're going on a camel safari. Yes, camels in the Himalayas! Who knew?
Another day, another incredible drive. We're heading to Pangong Lake, and it's a beauty! We'll stop at Shyok and Changla Pass along the way – perfect for a cuppa and a biccy. When we reach Pangong, you'll think you've landed on another planet. The lake changes colour like a mood ring – blues, greens, reds, you name it!
This morning, take in the sunrise over Pangong – it's absolutely gobsmacking! After brekkie, we'll head back to Leh. The drive's a stunner, so keep your camera handy. Once we're back in Leh, you've got the evening to yourself. Fancy a chang (local beer) with dinner? Go on, you've earned it!
Today we're off to Lamayuru, home of the bizarro 'Moonland' landscape. It looks like the moon's crash-landed in the Himalayas! We'll explore the 11th century Lamayuru Monastery – it's older than sliced bread, that one. Tonight, we're sleeping in Lamayuru. The stars up here are out of this world!
Wakey wakey! We're starting the day with a meditation session at Lamayuru. Don't worry if you've never done it before – just focus on not falling asleep! Then we're off to Alchi to see a monastery that's a thousand years old. In the evening, we'll have a nosey around Alchi village. It's like stepping back in time!
On our way back to Leh, we're stopping at Likir Monastery. It's got a massive golden Buddha statue – you can't miss it! Back in Leh, we'll check out the old palace and have a wander around the old town. Tonight's dinner is at a traditional Ladakhi home. Hope you like momos (dumplings)!
Hope you're not sick of stunning scenery yet, because today's drive to Manali is a corker! We'll cross Tanglang La Pass – make sure you grab a snap at the top. Tonight, we're staying in Manali. If you're feeling peckish, the trout here is top-notch.
This morning, we're visiting Hadimba Temple – it's built right into the forest! Then we'll take a dip in Vashisht Hot Springs. Perfect for those achy muscles! The afternoon's yours to explore Old Manali. Feeling adventurous? You can go paragliding or white-water rafting. Or just chill with a lassi – no judgement here!
