Kashmir Adventure 12-Day: Himalayan Beauty Expedition

Rise and shine in Delhi! We'll help you catch your connecting flight to Srinagar, the summer capital of Kashmir. As you land, you'll be gobsmacked by the ring of snow-capped mountains around the airport. We'll drive you to your comfy hotel where you can freshen up. Later, let's stretch our legs with a wander through the local market. Breathe in the aroma of spices and keep your eyes peeled for beautiful Kashmiri handicrafts.

Pack your hiking boots! We're off on a two-day trek in Sonamarg, known as the 'Meadow of Gold'. As we hike, you'll see why – the landscape is simply stunning. We'll set up camp for the night, so get ready for some proper star-gazing. You haven't seen stars until you've seen them from a Himalayan camp!

Wave goodbye to Sonamarg as we drive to Pahalgam. On the way, we'll stop at the Martand Sun Temple. This 8th-century marvel might be in ruins, but it's still an impressive sight. Once in Pahalgam, settle into your hotel and relax – tomorrow's another busy day!

Today's all about exploring Pahalgam's gorgeous valleys. We'll visit Betaab Valley, so picturesque it's a favourite for Bollywood films. Then it's on to Chandanwari, the starting point for the famous Amarnath Yatra pilgrimage. We'll finish with Aru Valley – have your camera ready for some cracking shots!

Next stop: Gulmarg, India's premier ski resort. After checking in, we'll take a ride on one of the world's highest gondolas. The view from the top is absolutely brilliant – you can see for miles!

If it's winter, strap on your skis for a lesson on Gulmarg's slopes. Don't worry if you've never skied before – our instructors are top-notch. Visiting in summer? We'll go for a lovely trek instead, soaking in the alpine scenery.

Back to Srinagar we go! Tonight's special – you'll be staying on a houseboat on Nigeen Lake. These floating hotels are a Kashmiri trademark. Enjoy a cup of kahwa (Kashmiri tea) on the deck and watch the shikaras (small boats) glide by.

Let's explore Srinagar! We'll visit the grand Jamia Masjid and the holy Hazratbal Shrine. Later, we'll pop into some local workshops to see Kashmiri artisans at work. Fancy trying your hand at carpet weaving?

Rise early for a trip to Dachigam National Park. Keep your eyes peeled for the endangered Kashmir stag! In the evening, lose yourself in the soulful melodies of a Sufi music performance – a perfect way to wind down your Kashmir adventure.

Time to say alvida (goodbye) to Kashmir. We'll get you to the airport for your flight back to Delhi, and then on to the UK. As you fly home, close your eyes and remember the magical moments from your trip. Kashmir will be waiting for your return!
