Included/Excluded
Begin your journey with a flight from London to Delhi, connecting to Amritsar. Upon arrival at Amritsar airport, our representative will greet you with a traditional Punjabi welcome. Transfer to your hotel near the Golden Temple. Evening orientation walk around the temple complex, followed by dinner at a traditional Punjabi restaurant.
Wake up early to witness the arrival of the Guru Granth Sahib (holy book) in the Golden Temple during the opening ceremony. After breakfast, explore the temple complex with your guide, learning about Sikh history and traditions. Participate in langar (community kitchen) preparation and service. Afternoon visit to Jallianwala Bagh memorial. Evening return to the Golden Temple for the mesmerising Palki Sahib ceremony, when the holy book is returned to its night residence.
Morning prayers at the Golden Temple, followed by breakfast. Drive to Dharamshala (5-6 hours), home to the Dalai Lama and Tibetan community. En route, visit the ancient Bajreshwari Temple in Kangra. Upon reaching Dharamshala, settle into your hotel in McLeodganj. Evening orientation walk through the Tibetan quarter.
Start your day with meditation at Tsuglagkhang Complex (Dalai Lama's temple). Visit the Tibet Museum and Namgyal Monastery to learn about Tibetan Buddhism. Afternoon trek to Bhagsu waterfall and temple. Visit the ancient Bhagsunag Shiva Temple and take a dip in the holy pool (weather permitting). Evening attend the Buddhist chanting ceremony at a local monastery.
After breakfast, drive to Mandi (5 hours), known as 'Varanasi of the Hills' for its ancient temples. En route, stop at Baijnath Temple, one of the oldest Shiva temples in India. Upon reaching Mandi, visit the cluster of stone temples along the Beas River. Evening aarti ceremony at Trilokinath Temple. Overnight in a heritage hotel.
Morning temple tour of Mandi, visiting Panchvaktra Temple and Bhootnath Temple. Drive to Kullu Valley (3 hours), stopping at Naggar Castle and art gallery. Visit the ancient Tripura Sundari Temple, known for its unique architecture. Evening walk through traditional Kullu village to experience local spiritual practices. Stay in riverside resort.
Drive to Manikaran (2 hours), famous for its hot springs and temples. Visit the historic Gurudwara and understand its significance for both Sikhs and Hindus. Take a holy dip in the natural hot springs (optional). Visit Ram Temple and Shiva Temple. Experience unique langar cooked in natural hot spring waters. Evening meditation session by the Parvati River.
Morning prayers at Manikaran Gurudwara, followed by drive to Manali (2 hours). Visit the ancient Hadimba Temple, built in 1553, surrounded by cedar forest. Afternoon visit to Vashisht village, known for its hot springs and temples. Evening walk through Old Manali, visiting Manu Temple. Optional traditional Himachali dinner with local family.
Early morning visit to Manali's Siyali Mahadev Temple. Time for last-minute shopping for local handicrafts and spiritual items. Afternoon flight to Delhi, connecting to your London flight, carrying the peace of the mountains with you.
